Sometime in the 19th c., in Arlington (then West Cambridge) a farmer named Hill dammed a small stream and built a pond to water his cattle.  Around the end of the 19th c. the Town took Hill's Pond and many surrounding acres to create Menotomy Rocks Park.  The pond was dredged some years ago, and needs annual treatment for invasive plants.  All this is in the Town budget, and considered non-controversial.John WordenArlington HDC
