ESTABLISHING LOCAL HISTORIC DISTRICTS GUIDEBOOK
The Massachusetts Historical Commission is revising the Establishing Local Historic Districts Guidebook. A revised draft guidebook is now ready for those interested or in the process of establishing or expanding a local historic district. Comments on the draft version are appreciated. During March, 2014, the Boston Preservation Alliance hosted a panel discussion featuring Don Rypkema on the economic benefits of historic preservation. WORKSHOP ON BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATIONS
This workshop will focus on how Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and Community Development Corporations (CDCs) are revitalizing neighborhood centers and downtowns in Massachusetts through investment in infrastructure and buildings, increasing housing and improving the business community.
