Hello,
Message Summary:
Hancock Cemetery Preservation Presentation
Quincy Historical Society
8 Adams Street
Quincy, MA 02169
October 22nd at 7:00pm
I'd like to share with members of this mailing list an exciting event I'm
organizing for Wednesday October 22nd at 7pm.
The event will feature the owner of Historic Gravestone Services, a
Massachusetts-based gravestone conservation company, presenting her work in
the Hancock Cemetery over the course of the recently completed Hancock
Cemetery Conservation and Restoration Project.
The project restored approximately 260 grave markers in the colonial era
cemetery, which once was the resting place of presidents John Adams and John
Quincy Adams and their first ladies.
The project was made possible by an $80,000 allocation from the Quincy
Community Preservation Committee and a $33,000 grant from the Massachusetts
Historical Commission.
The event is free and open to the public. We'd love to have you join us!
