Sally:
The Town of Uxbridge owns the Cornet John Farnum house which was built in the early 1700s and was the site of the first Town Meeting in 1727. The building is overseen by the Historic Commission which has a line in the town budget for O&M. The Commission holds its monthly meetings there and the Historical Society conducts meetings and programs there.
The Town also owns the Virginia Blanchard School building which is in the historic register and overseen by the Mass Historic Comm. The Town is in the process of selling the building to a non-profit 501C(3) entity for development into low-income housing. Both MassHistComm and MA DHCD have oversight of that process.
