TIME SENSITIVE Request for Proposals for Reuse of Cape in Hopkinton
The owners of a small, one and half story, double pile, five bay Cape with
a center entry circa 1830 with a single story late 19th century ell seek
proposals from individuals interested in the adaptive reuse of the
structure on its current site or for the removal of the structure for reuse
by another individual. The house, located in Hopkinton, retains its
central chimney, two historic fireplaces, some mantels, hardware and doors.
The building suffers from extensive deterioration. If the building is
moved, the fireplace chimney, bake oven and foundation stones must be left
on site.
An assessment and photographs of the structure can be viewed at

The deadline for a decision is July 1, 2015, with plans for immediate
removal if that is the decision, or immediate rehabilitation, to eliminate
safety issues. The town will own the footprint effective July 1, 2015, if
there are no concrete plans otherwise.
The site presents the following challenges. The structure is located close
to the road, adjacent to an active business. The site allows for 2-3
parking spots. Only the footprint and a small perimeter will go with the
house, and there will be no frontage, only easements.
Interested parties should contact Beth Mezitt at bethm at westonnurseries.com
as soon as possible
