Town of Mendon
Request for Proposals
The Town of Mendon is seeking proposals from qualified historic preservation
consultants to perform a comprehensive Campus Study in the Mendon Center
Historic District. The Campus is comprised of the Mendon Town Hall (Harrison
Hall 1840), the Union Chapel (Taft Public Library 1896) and the Old Mendon
Fire Station built in 1940 and located at 20 Main Street Mendon, Ma.
The goals of the study will be to provide the Town with an Architectural
Conservation Assessment of these three buildings and create a stabilization
plan and feasibility study for adaptive reuse and universal accessibility.
In addition the study will include a comprehensive landscape design that
connects these buildings, addresses parking, pedestrian accessibility and a
community green space.
Proposals must be received at the Office of the Town Administrator, Mendon
Town Hall, 20 Main Street Mendon, Massachusetts 01756 on or before 2:00 pm
Monday November 30, 2015.
The Town of Mendon reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive
any informalities in the proposal process, if deemed in the Town's best
interest.
The Request for Proposals (RFP), containing scope of work, proposal
requirements, and evaluation criteria, will be available upon request after
10:00 am on Monday November 9, 2015 at the Office of the Town Administrator,
Mendon Town Hall, 20 Main Street, Mendon, Massachusetts 01756 or by
contacting Kimberly Newman, Town Administrator by e-mail or telephone at
knewman at mendonma.gov or (508) 478-8863..
Proposers must meet the following minimum qualifications: a Bachelor's
degree in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, History, Art
History, or a closely related field, plus at least two years full time
experience in an area relevant to the project; or a Master's degree in any
of the above mentioned areas.
The RFP may be viewed on the website of the Town of Mendon
<http://www.mendonma.gov> www.mendonma.gov. Copies may be downloaded from
the town website or picked up at the Town Hall during regular business
hours.
