[MassHistPres] Upcoming Cemetery Preservation workshop

Hello all -
You're invited to the next meeting of the Western MA Historical Commission Coalition on Wednesday, October 21, at the PVPC office in Springfield.  The meeting will be held from 10am-12pm.

Our topic will be Cemetery Preservation, and will feature three speakers:



-Above Ground:  What you see in a cemetery and how to plan for preservation  (presented by Martha Lyon, Martha Lyon Landscape Architecture LLC)



-Technical Assistance and Best Cemetery Practices: Lessons from across the Commonwealth (presented by Wendy Pearl, MA Department of Conservation and Recreation)



-Below Ground:  What you don't see in a cemetery and how to protect it (presented by Ellen Berkland, MA Department of Conservation and Recreation)





The discussion should be beneficial to all those who interact with cemeteries, including municipal planners, DPW staff, Cemetery Commissioners, Historical Commission members, and Local Historic District commissioners.
