COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STAFF PLANNER
The City of Salem seeks highly motivated part-time planner to join creative 13-member Department of Planning and Community Development. Responsibilities include providing technical assistance to Historical Commission, undertaking historic preservation and CDBG projects, preparing grant applications; and managing construction projects. Ideal candidate will have experience and/or training in historic preservation, CDBG experience, strong written and verbal communication skills; and knowledge of urban planning principles and practices. Preference given to individuals with 2 or more years' professional work experience and a master's degree.

Position is part-time - 20 hours/week with benefits. Salary up to $28,800 depending on qualifications, plus stipend for Historical Commission meetings.
