Pittsfield is interested in responses to the below if any communities are willing to share, especially any experiences where the ordinance/bylaw was enacted.
Thanks!

Subject: [MassHistPres] Demolition by neglect review procedures
Lexington has had a demolition-by-neglect bylaw for some time. Town Meeting recently amended the bylaw to include properties in the historic districts, as well. Formerly, the demolition-by-neglect bylaw applied only to properties outside the historic districts, and no cases were ever implemented. Have any communities with a demolition-by-neglect bylaw or ordinance developed procedures or standards the Building Commissioner and Chair use when implementing demolition-by-neglect with actual properties and property owners? We would appreciate seeing your procedures.
Thank you,
Carol Kowalski
