This September Historic New England is pleased to offer two programs of interest to preservation commissions, advocates, and others concerned with preserving and maintaining historic buildings.

On Friday, September 9, 9 AM - 3:30 PM, our Leading Locally workshop, "Caring for Municipal, Museum, and Other Non-Profit Historic Properties,"<http://shop.historicnewengland.org/HH-PRESERVE3-9930/> takes place at the Lyman Estate, 185 Lyman Street, Waltham, MA.

Historic New England's Field School in Preservation Philosophy and Practice<http://shop.historicnewengland.org/HQ-SCHOOL-MTX-S-9183/> will be held on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25 at the Henry Sheldon Museum of Vermont History, 1 Park Street, Middlebury, VT. Designed for preservation students, professionals, and advocates, the Field School uses lectures, case studies, and field observation to show how Historic New England's preservation philosophy affects decision-making and translates to real-world applications for the preservation of historic property, from conditions assessment to scoping and treatment.

Online registration for these programs is at http://www.historicnewengland.org/events-programs/events-calendar. For more information, call Sally Zimmerman at 617 994 6644.
