The Lexington Historical Commission is pleased to share the news that Town Meeting members last night voted to amend the town's general bylaws to adopt an enabling bylaw providing for establishment of Neighborhood Conservation Districts in Lexington. The enabling bylaw, Article 29<http://www.lexingtonma.gov/sites/lexingtonma/files/pages/draft_ncd_bylaw_20160127_.pdf>, grew out of resident concerns in several neighborhoods, including mid-century modern and early 20th century bungalow neighborhoods, over the risks posed by the scale and pace of recent development in town. The NCD enabling bylaw is one of several Planning Board initiatives being considered at this year's town meeting that reflect the findings of a year-long policy study on the trajectory of development in Lexington.
