Not sure what you mean by "towers".  What we have in Arlington are  fairly thin aerials or antennas on both National  Register and 40C district buildings.  Off hand, I recall one on our ca. 1928 fire station (on top of the hose-drying tower), one enclosed in the steeple of an 1840 church, and one atop a 1950's bland brick box non contributing apartment house.John WordenArlington HDC
