Wayland First Parish retains its 1815 carriage sheds which of course were built by the town at that time as was the Meetinghouse (now First Parish). CPA funds were used to restore sheds including a new wood shingled roof. It looks wonderful and is a huge asset to our town center and Local Historic District. We have been under the impression that there are only a few early 19th century meetinghouses that retain the carriage sheds – one in Sudbury and one in Lancaster that I know of and of course the Wayland example – the town was known as East Sudbury from its incorporation in 1780 until name change to Wayland in 1835. What type of information do you need?

I would like historical information for the Congregational church on any carriage sheds. This church is going for restoration grants and need this information.
