Hi Carol,
Salem typically funds projects for multiply inventories with a combination of MHC Survey & Planning Grant funds matched with Community Development Block Grant funds. Single inventories undertaken between larger projects are typically done with CDBG.

Good morning,

Woburn has been working on its Inventory since 2008. We were able to move ahead with our efforts in those years with some funding from the city and two grants from the state. The funding from the city diminished and then stopped three years ago. Last night after my presentation before City Council, one councilor who is interested in the Inventory, asked for me to research how other communities have funded their Inventory research. How much support do other communities receive from their municipality, and what other means have been used to fund the research?

Thanks in advance for any information,

Carol Seitz
Chairperson
Woburn Historical Commission
