Have any Commissions dealt with requests for modern 4 -unit box to be
placed in the front yard of a large Queen Anne house divided into multiple
units in a district where all the properties have door to door service?
None of the other properties within the district have modern mail boxes.
The older style mail boxes are all affixed to their buildings.

Staff has suggested mounting four period-appropriate boxes next to the door
or placing the boxes inside the front door. Both options have been rejected
by the Applicant as infeasible as either ugly, or not permitted by the USPS
since the boxes would be located inside a private residence. Staff does not
have any special expertise in USPS regulations but understands that their
regulations have to do with efficiency and are under requirements the
individual postmasters.

Thank you for any thoughts or advice,
