The Sandwich Historical Commission is preparing a CPA grant application to restore wrought iron fencing on one 1804 burial ground and wrought iron gates at a 1663 burial ground. These wrought iron pieces were of course added during the Victorian era.
We have had some very qualified vendors out to view the work to be done and so far have two estimates for the work. Our problem is that we do not know the materials specifications to include in the eventual RFP.

We have done about a half dozen CPA grants to document and then restore stones in both these burial grounds, so we have that ‘down’, but we have never written an RFP for wrought iron restoration. Does anyone out there have experience with this?

Thank you.
