Historic New England will hold its Field School in Preservation Philosophy and Practice<http://shop.historicnewengland.org/HH-EASEMENT-MTX-R-10443/> on Friday, October 19, 1:00 - 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 20, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Roseland Cottage, 556 Route 169, Woodstock, Conn., located 55 miles southeast of Boston.

Designed for graduate students, professionals, and advocates in historic preservation and related fields, the Field School is equally valuable for homeowners approaching a major restoration project on an old house, for administrators and volunteers responsible for the preservation and maintenance of a  historic non-profit or municipally-owned building, and for contractors and others interacting with the care of historic structures.

Through lectures, case studies, field observation, and practical exercises at Roseland Cottage, learn how Historic New England's preservation philosophy affects decision-making and translates to real-world applications, from conditions assessment to planning to treatment.

Historic New England, the oldest and largest regional heritage organization in the country, saves and shares 37 historic properties to engage and inform present and future generations.
