Hello all,

I would like to second Kathy Schofield’s Colonial Barn Restoration, Inc. recommendation. We worked with them briefly, here in Belchertown, and Kathy is correct – they were really helpful and knowledgeable.

I, too, would like to hear someone speak on this important topic. Please keep me posted, too.

Best,

Hi Molly,

Several years back we called Tim Murphy from Colonial Barn Restoration Inc. He is from Bolton, Ma. 978-779-9865.

He came out to assess a barn we are still in the process of saving. He moves old structures. I wonder if he might be able to give you some contacts. He was really helpful and very knowledgable.

Keep me posted if you are able to book someone. The Mendon Historical Commission would be interested in hearing someone speak on this topic.

Best,

Kathy Schofield

Hello,

We’re planning a program about moving houses (in and out of Wayland, MA) over the years. Our own Wayland Museum (Grout Heard House) was moved twice! I’m hoping to find someone who would like to talk to a bunch of interested folks about this craft. Would you know of anyone that might fit the bill? Knowledgeable and appreciative of the old ways of moving houses, etc.?

Many thanks,

Molly Faulkner
