[MassHistPres] Examples of village overlay

I assume you are talking about a zoning “overlay district" — which requires a ⅔ vote and has all the inherent problems and limitations of zoning. If that could pass TM, why then not an LHD? If it could not, then how about a Neighborhood Conservation District which only requires a majority vote and can be expressly tailored to your situation?

From your posting, it sounds like the current town's zoning would allow uses that you would find objectionable. It also sounds like you are concerned about potential demolitions here. Anything else that you would want to see addressed through a new town bylaw? Chris.

Recently we rallied to have a Dollar General withdraw their plans for a 7.500 sq ft store that included demolishing one of the historic homes.. They did withdraw without prejudice.
