Revolution 250 Regional Musters
Revolution 250 is looking for your input. We are looking to listen and learn how your community would like to mark the coming anniversary? What are the needs of your town or neighborhood for historic preservation? How can we best engage the students of your schools to make them aware of the role Massachusetts played in establishing Independence in the United States?
Revolution 250 is creating a series of "Regional Musters" to gather people interested in history, members of historical societies and historical commissions, staff and volunteers at historic sites, libraries, museums and archives across Massachusetts. These musters are forums at which Revolution 250 can share news & plans for Massachusetts and from the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission, but more importantly, listen to attendees as they discuss and formulate ideas and plans for bringing these commemorative events to life across the Commonwealth.
The first three musters to be held will be:
June 19, 2019
American Antiquarian Society
Goddard-Daniels House
190 Salisbury Street
Worcester, MA
4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
June 20, 2019
Quincy Old City Hall
Conference Room
1305 Hancock Street
Quincy, MA
2:30 - 4:30 p.m.
June 25, 2019
Springfield Armory Museum National Historic Site
1 Springfield Armory St.
Springfield, MA
3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Stay tuned for future dates and times.
Revolution 250, a consortium of more than 50 organizations across the Commonwealth, is working on plans to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution; to advocate for greater public and private funding for historic preservation of American Revolution-era structures, sites, documents and material culture; and to promote an expanded curriculum and educational opportunities for schools across the state.
