[MassHistPres] Local Commission Virtual Meetings

The Chatham Historical Commission does allow public comment when recognized by the Chair. As a matter of regular protocol and also during a virtual meeting, the Chair calls for public comment and any person that is present or has either joined the meeting on Microsoft Teams or by phone would have the opportunity to join the conversation. The Commission did not receive any comments from the public at our last/first virtual meeting but I would assume that it would proceed as it did with the Commission members and that was very successful.

Does Chatham allow public speakout at its historical commission meetings? If so, how is that achieved?

Good morning
The Town of Chatham is currently holding all of its meetings virtually using Microsoft Teams. The Historical Commission held a meeting on April 21st using Teams and it went very well. We had a healthy agenda and for the first time through using a virtual platform and the Commission members handled the business with ease. The Chairman ran the meeting efficiently and members were able to comment and view plans that were shared during the meeting. With time and practice the process will become more proficient but it was well received.
Thank you
Michele

If your local historical commission or historic district commission has held a virtual public meeting, please let me know. I would like to hear how it is going and what kinds of resources you would find useful.
