Plenty have applied a Preservation Restriction (PR) to their own home - the
only trick is to find the correct entity to hold the PR. In our town the
local historical society holds restrictions that are donated by the
property owner. In other instances when a PR has been a condition of a
permit the town holds the restriction (we have a couple of instances in
which that is the case with the Historical Commission as the monitor on
behalf of the Town. I believe there are any number of private homes that
are protected by PRs in Weston. Check the Historical Commission's website
for examples.
