Posting on behalf of the MA State Historical Records Advisory Board (MA SHRAB)
Greetings colleagues,
The MA State Archives administers Federal "SHRAB" funds (i.e., a grants-to-states program from the National Archives) to support archival projects in Massachusetts. https://www.sec.state.ma.us/divisions/archives/shrab/shrab-grants.htm
One of the MA SHRAB programs is the free "Archival Field Fellow," in which a repository is paired with a current or recent graduate student (with archives training) to "process" a couple selected archival collections.
The Archival Field Fellow program is actively recruiting potential host institutions that may benefit from such a program. If your institution may be able to host such a fellow for periods in the coming academic year (2023-2024), let us know by submitting the following application by Sept 1: https://www.sec.state.ma.us/arc/arcpdf/Institutional_Application_form_2023_final.pdf. Preference is given to repositories that have received a 'strategic assessment and program review' from the Roving Archivist program.
Thanks for your time!
