*Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum Seeks a Research Fellow *
A researcher is sought to review existing research and conduct additional
research on the RJD property’s connections to the Underground Railroad.
Should the Museum qualify, the Fellow will write the application for the
RJD to be included in the Network of Freedom. The Museum is committed to
telling a fuller story of the RJD site, exploring histories not previously
told, specifically as related to the domestic staff, women of the
household, and the site’s connection to Abolition and the Underground
Railroad. The Fellow will produce a summary of findings, write two brief
articles (500 – 700 words), and present a public program at the Museum. The
Research Fellow will report to the Executive Director and work with the
Manager of Collections & Interpretation.
*Recommended Qualifications: *
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in History, American Studies, Museum
Studies or related subject matter
- Excellent writing skills
- Experience doing historical research (using primary sources, etc.)
- Equivalent study and research experience will be considered.
*Estimated hours for the project*: 100 *Completion Date*:
July 2024 (approximately)
*Stipend:* $2,500
