Greetings all!
On June 7th we held our fourth meeting of MassDEP's Deconstruction Workgroup, focused on Climate, Culture & Community: How Reusing Buildings Preserves Historic Spaces and Lowers Our Carbon Footprint. We learned about preservation/reuse efforts in the City of Boston, the triple bottom line that is possible, and tools to enable continued use of existing buildings.
Thank you to our incredible speakers from Boston Preservation Alliance, MA Historical Commission, Architecture 2030, and Place Economics. We also want to thank the 100+ participants who joined us from diverse stakeholder groups, including demolition and general contractors, architects, local/state/federal officials, waste haulers, nonprofit organizations, consultants, reuse organizations, historic preservationists, and others who are eager to support reuse of buildings in Massachusetts.
The meeting recording and presentations have been posted to MassDEP's Reduce & Reuse Working Group website and may be found at this link<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.mass.gov/lists/reduce-reuse-rr-working-group-deconstruction-workgroup-archive__;!!O9h35Ks8fCsF!HL8yuUONSZAvdp22mndTtvSxzYYdBsnVAM0-oums8Ns3wXsVGg1KLtAGKDDE4h6spKXzXm5vILbv_anA0_wa_8obLZQJBdbqxoNM$>.
