The Porter-Phelps-Huntington Museum interprets a historic farmstead on
agricultural land along the Connecticut River in western Massachusetts.
Passed down through daughters for the first three generations, the house
Moses and Elizabeth Porter built in 1752 remained in the same family until
it became a museum in 1949. In June 2022 descendants donated the adjacent
property of Phelps Farm—its historic buildings, including an impressive but
deteriorating early 19th-c. Federal house, 50 acres of agricultural land,
and a substantial archive of family and farm papers stretching from the
1790s to the 1970s—to the Porter-Phelps-Huntington Foundation. Both
properties were listed in a new National Register district earlier this
year. https://www.pphmuseum.org/
