William Wood, president of the American Woolen Mill Company in Lawrence, built the Andover Country Club, opened in 1926, for use by company employees. Other residents could use the club if they paid the fee. It’s history can be found on the Andover Preservation Commission’s website. https://preservation.mhl.org/60-canterbury-street <https://preservation.mhl.org/60-canterbury-street>.

It was built in 1958 for military personnel, and is now open to the public after BRAC closed the BNAS. There's another golf course at the former Loring AFB in Limestone, Maine - I think it might be the Limestone Country Club now. I'd suspect there are loads more.
