[MassHistPres] historic meetinghouse Westminster

Update: Two of the three selectboard members refuse to acknowledge their
responsibility in listening to the majority of the townspeople the last 16
years who want to save the historic meetinghouse for community use. They
are continuing to solicit bids for its demolition - and AT THE SAME TIME -
agreed to issue an RFP for is purchase and use - with so many limitations,
it will never be able to be used as a community resource. It looks dismal
right now. I've attached the current RFP to this email in the hopes that
someone who sees this knows of a potential buyer who could save the
building and use it. IF the Selectboard had agreed to use the building for
the town as recommended to them 16 years ago, it would have been done by
now, BUT the new RFP requires that all the money intended to be used for
the renovation be accounted for in the beginning. (Most of the old
meetinghouses I know of were renovated with the town backing combined with
donors and grants, etc. ) Am I frustrated? YES!

Please take a look at the RFP and if you have any suggestions, I am happy
to pass them on.
MANY THANKS!
