Joe and All,
I had developed a website while at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of
Public Health that focused on electric vehicle charging stations and their
design. I’m 76 and no longer at Harvard Chan but moved to Boston
University where I teach urban agriculture. I couldn’t keep the web site at
Harvard Chan but did publish an article about EV charging before leaving. I
could ask to create a website about EVs at BU but haven’t yet done that
task. I also have the individual photos of the EV chargers that were
installed in the historic district and other locations in Brookline.
Attached is a copy that I made of the web site text, the draft of the web
site text with smaller pictures, and the EV article.
I’m sending this to everyone in the hopes that it helps address climate
change and equity. In the article, I discussed the “Green Book” and
considerations for installing EV chargers. “The Green Book” was discussed
in today’s Boston Globe. Having home charging, I believe, is the only way
to expand EVs because now the non-home charging stations equal the cost of
gas. Government is putting all the money into the non-home charging
stations and only lower-income households can receive 100% coverage for the
home EV charger installation.
Thanks everyone,
Anne

Boston's Office of Historic Preservation is researching examples of EV
charging stations in local historic districts. Please share any examples
(good, bad and ugly) in your communities or that you have encountered
elsewhere.
Thank you!
