Town of Weston - Requests for Proposals
SALE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 131 WELLESLEY STREET,
WESTON, MASSACHUSETTS
(CASE ESTATES – RAND HOUSE)
The Town of Weston is seeking proposals for the sale of Town-owned
property located at 131 Wellesley Street, Weston, containing a
single-family residence known as the “Rand House” (the “Building”) and
other improvements thereon, identified on Assessors Map 22-60, containing
60,025 square feet, more or less, and being a portion of the premises
described in a deed recorded with the Middlesex South District Registry of
Deeds in Book 68039, Page 75 (the “Property”). Authority for the
disposition is pursuant to the vote under Article 27 of the 2021 Annual
Town Meeting, attached as Exhibit C. The Property will be conveyed subject
to a historic preservation restriction on the Building.
Sealed proposals shall be received by the Town Manager, Weston Town Hall,
11 Town House Road, Weston, MA 02493 no later than Friday, November 15, 2024 at
11:00 a.m. An original, five copies and a flash drive of the proposal
shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “131 Wellesley
Street (Rand House) - Weston” with the name and address of the proposer.
Proposals received after this time will be deemed non-responsive and will
not be accepted. Electronically transmitted proposals (either by fax or
email) will be deemed non-responsive and will not be accepted. Proposers
are cautioned to hand deliver their proposals or to allow sufficient time
for their proposals to be received by the Town. All proposals must be
accompanied by a bid deposit, either bank or certified check, in the amount
of $25,000.00 or 10% of the purchase price, whichever is greater, which
will be returned to any unsuccessful Proposer.
The Town of Weston reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive
any defects, informalities and minor irregularities, to accept exceptions
to these specifications, and make such award or act otherwise as it may
deem in its best interest of the Town.
