Subject: MA SHRAB accepting applications for Field Fellowship Program
grants - deadline Oct. 4

Are you looking for hands-on assistance with archival collection processing
as well as funding to purchase archival supplies? The MA State Historic
Records Advisory Board's Field Fellowship Program is an excellent way to
get collection's preserved and processed by a trained archivist.

The SHRAB's Roving Archivist Program welcomes institutional applications
for the upcoming Archival Field Fellowship grant. Please see the grant
guidelines and application details on the SHRAB blog
<https://mashrabblog.wordpress.com/2024/09/11/grant-announcement-apply-for-collection-processing-assistance-and-archival-supply-regrant-deadline-oct-4-2024/>for
more information. The deadline for institutional applications is October 4,
2024. Repositories are required to have received a 'strategic assessment
and program review' grant from the Roving Archivist Program
<https://www.sec.state.ma.us/divisions/archives/shrab/shrab-grants.htm>
prior to applying. For examples of Archival Field Fellowship projects, we
welcome you to explore posts on the SHRAB's blog
<https://mashrabblog.wordpress.com/programs/>by prior Archival Field
Fellows.

Individuals who wish to serve as prospective 'Field Fellows',
information and application materials can be viewed on the SLIS jobline
<https://slis-jobline.simmons.edu/2024/09/10/archival-field-fellowship-the-massachusetts-state-historical-records-advisory-board-boston-ma/>
and
on the SHRAB website.

The SHRAB will select three repositories to host Archival Field Fellows. If
you have applied in previous years and were not selected, the SHRAB
encourages you to reapply. Selection is partially determined by the
geographic proximity of the Field Fellow which varies each grant year.

If you would like to discuss how the Fellowship grant could benefit your
institution or to explore potential processing projects, please feel free
to reach out to the Roving Archivists Sarah-Jane Poindexter (
mass.roving.archivist at gmail.com) and Tom Doyle (
roving.archivist.doyle at gmail.com).
