[MassHistPres] Historical Significance based on Streetscape

Hi,
I find it hard to belive that you can not find a 1880 structure, Historicaly Significant in accordance with your Demo Delay bylaw. I amassuming it is still has the majority of it architectural features and significance.
Street Scape is often used by our commission to add to the reasons for a demo delay and encouragement if changes are to be made they respect the Historical Significance of the Street scape...

Ps...If there is no suvery for  1880 structures in your community..I would advise that you get them done...

Hello all - has anyone in the group invoked their demolition delay bylaw by declaring a structure to be historically significant based on its relationship to other structures and the sightlines / streetscape?  My town has a demo permit pending for an 1880s Mansard structure which individually does not qualify (we have no historic property survey on it and there are several other mansard buildings on the street), but is unique in the sightlines and context it creates.   Any firsthand experience with this specific situation would be most appreciated!  Thank you,
