• A project vision statement. This should be written by the team and approved by the customer. It should be short and sharp. Perhaps imagine it as a piece of marketing literature.

• A public web site for the project, with a link to the vision statement and a nice logo, with links to all the project documents.

I wish we all had fat McConnell, but I think it's too late to insist on that. I doubt that the bookstore will take back the thin ones for full price and I don't have the time to fight them on the issue. So lets make do - we're learning how to make compromises all the time.

• Rapidly read Part I of fat McConnell or Parts I and II of skinny McConnell. Write a few paragraphs about one or two things you learned that may be useful this year, perhaps with comparisons to Beck or Brook.

• Read your assigned section from Part II or Part III and report on whether or not the whole class should read that material, and why (or why not). Put your answers someplace where I can link to them and send me the URL. The linked text should not require Word or PDF to be read.
