Repeated events, independence, coin flips, rare events.
The class was pretty engaged in the probability computations for repeated events. Discussing the double-down roulette strategy worked quite well. I think that many understood the product rule for independent events. I’ll write some homework.
Next time: false positives, teaching evaluations. Then the last class next week – write the exam.
These posts are getting shorter and shorter as the end of the semester nears. And I won’t be teaching QR in the spring (still working on the book, though).
