Somerville's Demolition Review Ordinance uses 50 years as the threshold
timing, which essentially covers most buildings, including garages, barns
and carriage houses that recently are cropping up for review a lot, in the
City at this point!

Brookline does not use a specific year, and can potentially declare any
building architecturally or historically significant. This allows for the
protection of architecture of more recent vintage.
