This two-day program is an introduction to the conservation, repair and
restoration of early, historical windows. The program will concentrate on window
sash and will provide both theoretical and practical information on
conservation, repair and restoration. It will also provide an understanding for why
window frames and particularly sashes are one of the most significant details
that define a particular architectural style. John Butler, an accomplished
preservation artisan will be the workshop instructor. An introduction to
Hillside will be given by project architect John Salem.
This program is sponsored by:
The Hillside Restoration Project in cooperation with the Assabet Valley
Vocational School, Preservation Worcester, the Worcester Center for Crafts
