Thank you for all of this wonderful insight.
My in-laws own a circa 1876 Queen Ann Victorian and some of the original
windows were replaced with vinyl windows....I'm glad I had the hindsight to
insist that the original windows be saved in case anyone in the future
wanted to restore the property with the original windows.....they are being
kept dry in the barn and hopefully one day there will be funds available to
have them restored and replaced.....
