[MassHistPres] preservation easements

I've recently accessed information from the National Trust on "preservation 
easements".
Does anyone know whether there are additional tax benefits in Massachusetts 
at the state level in addition to federal tax benefits?  Any examples of 
successful easements?  I understand that "Historic New England" has been 
qualified as an easement-holding organization in some states.
