Fellow Preservationists and Commissioners,
 
The Town of Sharon has finally put out a Request For Proposals (RFP) for  the 
Wilber School development located within the Third Historic District.   You 
may recall that at our last Town Meeting a vote was taken to abate the  
building of hazardous materials and to only minimally stabilize the structure,  
leaving it open and exposed to the elements - getting it ready for  demolition.  
The Selectmen charged a board with review of the development  and ordered this 
RFP to go out in an effort to find a "white knight"

(http://www.townofsharon.net) , go into Boards and  Committees, select Wilber 
School redevelopment Committee and the RFP will be  right there.  Please pass 
this along to any one you know in the development  community.  Sealed proposals 
must be submitted by 11:00 am on Friday,  August 25, 2006.  A pre-proposal 
conference will be held at Sharon Town  Hall, 90 South Main Street, at 10:00 am on 
Thursday, July 20, 2006, with a walk  of the site to follow.
