The Boxborough Historical Commission has been buying signs for the
oldest houses in Town. We started with the "house tour" houses from a
Society house tour four years ago and have been slowly adding more
houses each year from the Town-wide inventory (mostly by age order). We
have a lady who coordinates this, inquires whether the owner would
welcome such a sign (usually a "yes") and then orders the sign. We have
a man in Maine who paints the signs for us in a standard style. Many of
these signs replace those placed by the Historical Society some thirty
years ago. We think such signs are a fine thing and I will get the name
of our sign painter guy, which I will post on a future date.
