[MassHistPres] Historic Plaques

All,
The side discussions have their own merit but aren't helpful to our intern.
We really need some help finding sign-makers who will do comparable signs to
the existing ones. We did think about changing them to another material and
style but for the sake of consistency of message we would like to do the
same style of blue and black on white, not raised metal. Our intern,
Katherine is doing a yeoman's job at trying to find someone who will
continue the current program (both the graphic artist and the maker are no
longer in business), and the general consensus is to not confuse the issue
with a different style house plaque. We already have non-LHD owners who are
putting up their own!
Does anyone have experience with a company who will do enamel on metal
plaques at reasonable price?

Fascinating! Yes, you might therefore have an entirely different
awareness from the norm.

Actually, we have one person who applied for a sign for a similar
reason. The house is so unusual and in the center of town, the
homeowner was tired of people knocking on the door asking about the
house's history.
I'm not sure that a sign with the name of the builder and date it was
built will do the trick, but I've not had a chance to get a report on
the effectiveness of this plan. (Maybe a very large dog would work
better....)
