In Shrewsbury, we have a concrete pergola that needs inspection. Built in
the early 1900s, the pergola's columns seem sound, but the lintels have
deteriorated. We want to know whether the pergola can be restored.
Can anyone recommend someone who does such inspections?
We'd like to save the pergola, if possible, because it's the only surviving
remnant of the estate, "Juniper Hall," of local carpet manufacturer Matthew
John Whittall (1843 - 1922). (See:
_http://www.whittalllodge.org/biography.html_ (http://www.whittalllodge.org/biography.html) .) The pergola was the
centerpiece of a vast garden which celebrities once visited and which is now
being slowly restored.
