Mildred Jones Keefe and Eastern Massachusetts Preservation Funds for
Massachusetts

The National Trust for Historic Preservation invites applications from
public municipalities and nonprofit organizations to apply for the
Preservation Funds for Massachusetts. The Mildred Jones Keefe Fund was
created in 1984 in memory of the late Mildred Jones Keefe who was active
in the arts and a lifelong preservation advocate in Southeastern,
Massachusetts. The Eastern Massachusetts Fund was created in 2001 with
the support of a private donor. All Preservation Fund applications
received from Massachusetts organizations will be considered for funding
through one of these programs.

The Preservation Fund provides nonprofit organizations and public
agencies matching grants from $500 to $5,000 (typically from $1,000 to
$1,500) for preservation planning and education efforts. Funds may be
used to obtain professional expertise in areas such as architecture,
archeology, engineering, preservation planning, land-use planning, fund
raising, organizational development and law as well as preservation
education activities to educate the public. Funds are not available to
support construction and/or restoration costs. Application deadlines
are February 1, June 1, and October 1. The application for the both
Funds is the same application as the Preservation Fund, formerly known
as the Preservation Services Fund, of the National Trust for Historic
Preservation. Below is a list of recent National Trust grants awarded
in Massachusetts:
