[MassHistPres] Staffing questions

This thread is helpful. Preservation expertise is, I suppose, rare in urban
or rural planners serving municipalities. CPTC doesn't include it in its
training for planning and zoning boards.
Is there a way to provide a training module for any Mass. town board that
would like it? The N.H. Alliance has put many topics on a disk under the
name "Preserving Community Character". Years ago, the observation was made
that Massachusetts relies on support for historic preservation from its
pioneering and important private historical organizations rather than public
sector support appropriate to its resources.
Today, multi-disciplinary backgrounds are common, and preservation relates
to affordable housing, environment and economic development but education is
still our greatest challenge.
