[MassHistPres] Signs on Buildings

The local Community Preservation Committee (CPC) is requiring that projects
for buildings that receive funds from the CPC place pre-designed signs on the
building visible from a public way to acknowledge the source of the funds.
Many of these are historical buildings.

Two questions:
1. Do any historical commissions around Massachusetts have any input into
the design or placement of these signs?

2. If a sign is going to be placed in a historic district, who has the last
word? CPC or the local historical commission? CPC has informed applicants
that a sign of some sort will be required.

Thank you.
