Massachusetts Historical Commission - Survey and Planning Grant Awards
for Fiscal Year 2007
Secretary of the Commonwealth William Francis Galvin is pleased to
announce the awards of grants for the FY 2007 Survey and Planning Grant
Program. Approved by the Massachusetts Historical Commission at its
April 2007 meeting were matching grants of $253,700 distributed to
projects in 20 Massachusetts municipalities. The Survey and Planning
Grant Program is designed to help communities fund qualified,
professional consultant services to support the identification and
protection of significant historic properties and sites. The following
projects were awarded grants in this round:
Arlington Dept of Planning and Community Development, Survey and
assessment of Old Burying Ground
Ayer Historical Commission, Town-wide historic properties survey, Phase
1
Belchertown Historical Commission, Historic properties survey update
Boston Landmarks Commission, Beacon Hill survey Phase 3 - The Flats
Brookline Preservation Commission, Mid-20th century historic properties
survey update (1930-1960)
Groveland Historical Commission, Town-wide historic properties survey
Kingston Historical Commission, Town-wide archaeological reconnaissance
survey
Malden Historical Commission, Malden historic properties survey
expansion
City of Methuen, Historic District walking tour brochure
Natick Historical Commission, Historic properties survey update, Phase 1
Oak Bluffs Historical Commission, Historic properties survey update
City of Pittsfield, Neighborhood historic properties survey
Plymouth Historic District Commission, Historic district inventory
review and update
Randolph Historical Commission, Town-wide historic properties survey,
Part II
Salem Dept of Planning and Community Development, City-wide neighborhood
architectural conservation district study
Sharon Historical Commission, Town-wide historic properties survey
South Hadley Historical Commission, Town-wide historic properties survey
Southwick Historical Commission, Town-wide historic property survey
Walpole Planning Board, Town-wide historic properties survey
Woburn Historical Commission, Town-wide historic properties survey
The Survey and Planning Grant Program is financed with Federal funds
from the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior,
administered through the Massachusetts Historical Commission.
