I would be careful soliciting prices from general contractors for
"appropriate" replacement windows and doors. The term"appropriate" leaves
too much room for interpretation, and what is appropriate to one person
isn't to others. If you would like to get an assessment of the windows and
pricing for replacements, and have access to old photos of the originals,
you can email Jade Mortimer, who has a business restoring and replacing old
