Gould Barn, One Howlett Street, Topsfield, MA

first period homes to old school houses and magnificent mill buildings.
This workshop will explore tools that can help preserve the historic
treasures that enhance the fabric of our cities and towns.

Albert Rex, Consultant for MacRostie Historic Advisors LLC will explain
how to make small projects work using historic rehabilitation tax
credits. More small projects and non-profit developers have been able to
use credits to finance their projects. Learn what projects qualify, how
to apply, and the effect on project feasibility.
Jenny Raitt, MAPC Sr. Housing Planner will present a case study of the
Whipple Annex in Ipswich. See how a former mill building near the
Ipswich River was transformed into 10 units of affordable housing with a
green roof.
Sean McDonnell, President of the Architectural Heritage Foundation will
present a case study of the Washington Mills in Lawrence. The first
major project in the Reviviendo Gateway District, 155 live/work units
