An excellent example is the Department of Conservation and Recreation's
Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park Visitors Center at River
Bend Farm in Uxbridge. The lower level of the barn was converted to
office space and the main level to meeting and public program space.
Well worth a visit.

Subject: [MassHistPres] Barn re-use examples requested

The Town of Agawam is currently considering the re-use of a mid- to
late-nineteenth century double ramp high drive New England style barn
for community use. Can anyone provide examples of other barns that have
been adapted for this purpose or for other public use?

I would appreciate any information you can provide, via e-mail or
telephone.
