[MassHistPres] Door handles and the ADA

A local project has converted one of the few remaining factories in
Marlborough into lofts.  
 
The developer did an excellent job matching the windows and doors.
Unfortunately, he felt compelled to put a modern handle on the exterior of
the doors in order to comply with the ADA, and this essentially negates the
effect of the otherwise correct doors.
 
How have you dealt with this issue?
